Have you ever had a really dirty baking dish or pot? Instead of spending time and money (on the hot water) endlessly scrubbing the dish, fill the dish with water. Then, add a used dryer sheet. Soak overnight and the baked on food will clean right off the next day.
no more endless scrubbing

Oooooh I love this tip! I usually soak my tough pots overnight and that does help. But the dryer sheet will tackle the rest of the mess. Great! Thanks! Now if only I hadn’t thrown out all my used dryer sheets today. (Monday’s my only laundry day.) Oh well my menu is fairly simple this week so I shouldn’t have many tough pots or pans.
I’ve heard this once before and completely forgot about it! Thank you for putting this back in my head. I didn’t know that it could be used!! That makes it even better.
Oh I love this tip. I am one of the lucky housewives who has a husband who prefers to do the dishes … I have no clue why … but I will pass this tip along, I am sure he will be greatful
Oh wow! Wish I had known this 1 year ago. I decided to get a whole new set of pots and pans, much needed anyway, but there was one HUGE pot I could barely part with and I tried everything-or so I thought. What a very helpful tip, I will have to try that one! Thanks
Neat tip! I’ll give this a try next time!
Very clever! I’ve been using dishwasher soap to soak for the same result…but another good idea is ALWAYS valuable!
And, you stopped by my bloggy home recently for the Blog Party and asked if I was the Mom2TwoVikings from Homeschool Lounge…and that’s a YES! LOL Nice to “meet” ya!
What a great idea! It seems I ALWAYS have something dried on in a pan or pot.
That is a great idea! I have learned a similar tip as a result of scorching a cream sauce and being left with a blackened mess inside my pot. Put a bit of water in the pot with some baking soda and boil it on the stove and the blackened mess comes right off.
Clap Clap Clap… Bravo! Im gonna try it.. Can you use a used one?
“Can you use a used one?”
Yes ~ I suppose you could try it with a new one, but it works great with sheets that have already been through the dryer.
THH
I always get frustrated when I have a really dirty dishes and I can’t get them clean. I’m going to try that trick tonight and see what happens. Thanks for the information!
How on earth did you figure this out? I am going to stockpile the used dryer sheets for this purpose alone..LOL! Great tip! Thank you!
Do you know if this also works for the stove’s drip pans? Nothings seems to get those clean…
thanks!
Wow!Thanks so much for this tip!I can`t wait to try it!Baking soda also works very well.It shines stainless steel up nicely.
